Creating art is the central interest of my life and my passion.

Art has always been a constant thread weaving through my experiences and passions. Growing up in Queensland, surrounded by the vibrant hues of a subtropical landscape—endless blue skies, vivid flowers, and lush foliage—shaped my early love of colour and form. Equally influential is the time I spend in Italy, where the light is softer, and the landscapes are imbued with a quiet elegance that contrasts beautifully with the vividness of Australia.

Though my early career was in IT, my heart was always in the creative world.  Painting and clay became my sanctuary, a place where I could express myself freely.  I began my artistic journey around 2002,  and since then, painting has been a source of joy and fulfilment.

Acrylic has become my painting medium of choice.  Its immediacy and vibrancy are perfectly suited to the expressive, textured nature of my work. For portraiture, I turn to oils, drawn to their creamy texture, rich depth, and smooth blending qualities.

My work also extends into sculpture, where I use clay to hand-build quirky figures that capture a spirit of whimsy.  I sometimes fire these pieces using the raku method, a process I first fell in love with at a workshop in Italy.  The unpredictable nature of raku firing – never knowing the exact outcome – adds a layer of excitement and spontaneity to my practice.

Through my art, I aim to bring colour, joy, and a sense of connection to those who welcome it into their lives. Whether it's a painting or a sculpture, my work is decorative, happy, and imbued with colours that celebrate life’s vibrancy. My hope is that it not only enhances the spaces it inhabits but also uplifts the spirits of those who live with it.
